Question about transportation from Boardwalk to MK...

For our upcoming February trip, I will accompany DS to the parks alone, while DH is in class. Bus service doesn't appeal to me, because we will have our (huge) stroller with us, and the thought of holding DS and lugging the stroller to board the buses just makes me cringe. So...can I take the walkway to Epcot, walk through the park and take the monorail to MK? That would certainly simplify my life! We will have our car, but prefer to leave it at the Boardwalk, so that DH can quickly join us when class is done, without having to wait for bus service. TIA!

You can walk from the Boardwalk to Epcot and then to the monorail. However, while the walk from the Boardwalk to Epcot is only 10 minutes tops with a stroller you will have a long walk to the front exit of Epcot.
You can eliminate some walking by taking the Friendship boat from the Boardwalk to Epcot, but this would take more time than walking unless you happen to catch a boat right away.
You may want to consider grabbing a taxi from the Boardwalk to one of the Magic Kingdom hotels and then taking the monorail or boat. If you go to the Contemporary you can walk to the MK since it is so close.
I understand if you want a taxi to the MK you will be left at the TTC so it's better to go to one of the MK resorts.

One thing to keep in mind, if you are going to go thru Epcot to get to the monorail to go to MK, you will need to have some type of park hopper ticket. If you were planning on just buying day tickets at MK, you would have to also buy day tickets at Epcot to walk thru it!

I'm sure the driver would probably help you with getting your stroller and DS onto the bus if you ask; the WDW transpo CM's are very courteous and helpful as a rule!

I just got back from BWVs with two 3 year olds and an 8 year old and a double side-by-side umbrella stroller.

I would NOT go through Epcot from BWV to get to the monorail and then have to transfer yet again at the TTC. It will be a lot of walking and take a LONG time.

I would either drive or take the bus. Why take a taxi if you have a car????

The bus and stroller isn't all that bad to make it worth the long trek through Epcot and the TTC.

You may find that other guests can be quite helpful. We were on the bus when a woman got on at the Swan with a 1 year old and a 5 year old. Her husband put the stroller on the bus for her and got off (we figured he was going to a conference as he had a name tag and a notebook). We chatted with the Mom and kids the whole way to the Magic Kingdom. When it came time to get off, my brother carried the stroller (and even set it up for her), I carried the diaper bag, the 5 year old was a big boy and got off by himself and Mom carried the 1 year old. Bus rides can be fun - chat with some other adults (most people are quite friendly when riding the bus) or families with older children. I bet someone will help you out.

Sporty:

Thank you so much for reminding us to be courteous! I am sure that mother greatly appreciated your kindness. I hope we all remember to be thoughtful and helpful when we see someone that could use an extra hand.
