Hi All

Cruise is coming up, and hubby has a question I couldn't answer!!:eek:

I know they had stopped tours of the bridge at one point...are they doing them again? Are they now, or did they ever, tour the engine rooms? What other things along these lines do they offer?

Thanks for your help!

Yes they are once again doing the bridge tours.

It looks like it is only on Port days. And you pick up timed tickets at Guest Services. It looks like the hand out of tickets starts on the second morning.

Take a peek at the lastest Nav's on the Castaway Club website, www.castawayclub.com

Also curious....are there two different ones. One that's free & one you pay for???

If so, how are they different?

Thanks in advance! ::MickeyMo :boat:

The tour of the bridge is free and open to everyone, it is more interesting for the adults....

DCL used to silent auction one engine room tour, several years ago, but discontinued it way before 9/11 because of safety concerns. We have pictures of the engine room on our site.

From your trip countdown, I think you are on the Magic. They have a galley tour that is very interesting. And one of the behind the scenes program used to let you get up on the Walt Disney Theater stage (briefly). You wouldn't believe how small it is. We've did it twice, once it was set up for Mousekateer (I have a picture of me in the hot seat), and the other was Hercules. Recent cruisers can confirm that they still allow stage access.

The Magic has a "Art of Disney Magic" walking tour, that I highly reccomend. Here's a link to the text of the handout and pictures, but you have to do it in person.

Thanks all. I always know where to go for an answer!

Don't miss the galley tour. When we cruised in 2002, I stood in line for "timed admission" tickets for the tour earlier the same day; then we just showed up at the assigned spot and walked right through the galleys with one of the chefs as our guide. Only the adults needed tickets, but kids were welcome on the tour too (though really young ones probably won't be interested).

It was lots of fun to see where all that yummy food is prepared, and to hear how much food a ship full of people goes through in a week! The tour is short but sweet (literally--you get one of those scrumptious chocolate chip cookies at the end of it!)

Which day do you sign up for the galley tour? Where do you sign up? What time of day? What day is held on? Is it held on more than one day? It's like the park. I love to pack in as much stuff as possible.

Thanks in advance! ::MickeyMo :boat:

the tour is on the last sea day (Thursday) around 2:45-3:30

there a a limited number of slots and you have to get tickets for a time at around 11:30, the navigator says outside Studio Sea

check this navigator for more the info you'll need to look for when you cruise.
