Question about tips with DDP

Hi everyone,

Relatively new to the board and just had a quick question about the DDP. We have used it in the past when it was free and gratuities WERE included. Now that they aren't, is a percentage automatically added to your bill at the end of your TS meal, or do you get to decide how much to leave? I have no problem tipping, but the service we had last year at one of the restaurants was really horrible and I would hate to think Disney would automatically add an 18% gratuity to a $100 meal when we had cruddy service.

Also - just wanted to confirm, in 2009 if you upgrade to the DDP, that still includes an appetizer whereas the basic does not, right??

For 2008, if you have a party of less than 6, you are given "suggested" gratuity amounts of 18% and 20% but you can leave whatever you choose. If you have a party of 6 or more (and even kids under 3 count towards the 6) you are billed for 18% gratuity.

I'm not sure about the DxDDP for 2009; we never get that so I don't pay attention to the entitlements.

and remember if you ever have a bad experience in a restaurant, any restaurant not just disney, let someone know the manager can not rectify a situation if they dont know about it.
