How much time should I plan for breakfast at Kona if we want to be at MK for rope drop? Would 8am work?

What about Chef Mickey's?

Do you usually get seated fairly close to the time of your ADR?

Thanks!

Seating - ADR is an approximate time. You will be seated normally within 15 to 20 minutes. You can also check-in at the restaurant podium 15 minutes before your ADR time.

If it is a normal opening park day - 9 AM, get to the ticket turnstyles by 8:15 AM. Then Chef Mickeys ADR would be 7 AM.

May I suggest a 7:30 AM or 8:00 AM breakfast at Crystal Palace or Cindy's ?
An early breakfast in the park allows you to get into the park to get to your ADR before the general public. You can take pictures of an almost empty Main Street and the castle.
You will be done with your breakfast before 9 AM and will be able to get into which ever "land" on MK you wish to be in - when the clock strikes 9 AM.

We love getting into MK or EPCOT for an early breakfast, just for the above reason.

I would try to eat in the park as the other poster said. If you go to Kona or CM, keep in mind that you may have to wait for a monorail and to factor in the time it takes to get to the park and through the turnstyles.

The last time we went we had a breakfast reservation at Ohana's for 8am. We actually got there by 7:15, before it was even open! They ended up seating us within five minutes of opening at 7:30 and even then, we got to the MK ticket gates at about 8:55. I remember waiting a long time for the monorail and kept wishing we'd been just a few minutes earlier because it made me feel rushed.

I think I'm going to try CP for breakfast for the exact reason the poster noted; I want to be in the MK when 9am comes around. And I wouldn't have thought of that unless someone posted it so thanks!

If you get to Kona at 7:30, you should make it. There are no characters there, and the service is generally pretty quick.

Thanks so much for the advice. I made an ADR for Crystal Palace, which I hadn't even considered (I'm pretty new at this!). I love the idea of being in the park when it opens. We'll have breakfast at Kona on check out day when we aren't going to be in the park early anyway.

Thanks again! Love these boards!
