OK Here's the deal...

I'm an annual passholder. My friend and I are hopefully going to Disney for Spring Break. However, she is not an annual passholder, so she'd be buying a park hopper ticket. We'd be staying in the same room.

Are we able to do the Dining Plan? I did it over Christmas with my family and thought it was a great deal. But I read in the info thread that you have to be on the same ticket options.

Help?

Well, if you booked your room using an AP discount, then you can't add the dining plan for either of you.

The only way you can do the dining plan is to book a MYW package that includes room, and include at least a 1-day basic ticket for each of you. Your roommate can add extra days to her ticket when you get there and you can keep yours and use it at a later date because it doesn't expire until 14-days after the first day you use it.

So, if I have an AP, but we DONT take the discount on the room, and she has the MYW + PH, we can do it? Or do we both have to have the MWY + PH tickets?

You both have to buy at least one ticket each. Then we you get there she can upgrade her ticket to whatever she wants 3day 5 day... add hopper add nonexpiring or whatever.... then you'll have that one ticket left over to use at a different time.

So you can only have MYW tickets with the DDP? You can't have Park Hoppers?

Disney only sells "unbundled tickets". The tickets are called Magic Your
Way MYW. You start with a one day base ticket which is the minimum required for a package. You can add to the tickets, for just one guest, after you check in. You can add days, the no-expiry option, the park hopper option and even the water park option. The term "park hopper" either refers to an old pass or a MYW pass which had the "park hopper" option added.

Save your one day ticket if you do this and use it when it's time to renew your AP

What do you mean by renewing your annual pass? Can the $ you spent on the 1 day be used towards renewing your pass?

If you don't do a proper "renewal" you can use the 1 day ticket towards an AP (just pay the difference) I did it last year using my 1 day ticket from free dining
