Question about ticket changes

Right now we have park hoppers, not sure why I bought them for a 2 day trip...anyways were inside the 45 day window so changing the tickets would only save us $100. If we make the change at check in can the just put that $100 on our magic bands as credit?

You can certainly ask.

They can put "refunds" onto Disney Gift Cards, and the value of Disney Gift Cards can be
added to MagicBands for "charging."

BTW, however, once you are at check-in, they do not HAVE to give you any refunds for downgrading a ticket.
(In fact, tickets are sold on a non-refundable basis.)

Soooo...
while it is quite POSSIBLE that you can get a refund at check-in,
you MIGHT not be able to at all.

If you can do so now, that might be a better idea.
(Just save the money and add it to your "MB charge" when you arrive.)
