OK, so I sorta peeked at the weather for next week and it shows T-Storms all week! Should I be concerned or do they blow over rather quickly? I am going to be so sad if it rains every day... but I guess it's better than being home, right?

Somebody make me feel better! :goodvibes

Totally stressing out too!! But everyone says that the rain goes quickly, hope they are right. I will be packing some extra ponchos just in case!

It was supposed to rain the week I went down to WDW too and we lucked out with 90s and sunshine - we did get a shower that may have last for an hour or two one afternoon - most rain blows by quickly and some doesn't make it to WDW -

We always go in May and love going this time of year we (this year we are going first 2 weeks of June but next year back to mid May) and it can be rainy but sporatic rain and usually not all day or everyday so don't worry. One year when we were at EPCOT and family members were stayning at POFQ for pool time, it rained there and was sunny where we were!!

For all of us that went last May and experienced all those torrential rains everyday the first sunny day in a week was the day we left but I think that type of rain is unusual for florida. Just pack a poncho/umbrella and you will be fine. We still have a great time rain or no rain.

We pack extra shoes if we are at WDW during forecasted rain. We were caught in a short shower that added so much water in a short time, that we were walking through pretty deep puddles.

The rain passes quickly but it took a good 24 hours to dry our shoes.

Orlando is located in the state of Florida which is a peninsula. As a general rule, the clouds move through quickly and rainstorms last only a few minutes before it clears up and sunshine returns. Due to the extreme heat and humidity during this time of year, there are frequent brief rainstorms almost daily. They actually are refreshing and help relieve the intense heat. I'm sure you will see plenty of sunshine during your visit. When the rainstorms make their brief appearances, just enjoy one of the indoor attractions in the parks or grab a drink and a snack until they pass. Have fun! :cool2:

Leaving tomorrow, yipeee! I can deal with occasional rain showers we were there for 12 days ing Feb and it was freezing! Experiencing OKW this is my 1st dvc trip and I am leaving my family at home, going with 2 friends! Family still wondering how that happened!

Have a great time at OKW. We stayed there last year and decided to join DVC because of our stay at OKW!

Isn't it great to see our countdown tickers at 1 DAY?!?! :cool1:

Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions. I esp like the one about the extra shoes (never thought of that). I do feel a lot better now!

Extra shoes are the bets thing ever! I went one year and only took one pair of sneakers and they got drenched the first day. It took the entire trip to get them dried out. The rain comes so fast that it gets very deep and when your shoes get wet they get very, very wet. I found a good solution is crocs. They are comfortable and ok to walk in but let the water in and out. I even took a pair in a plastic bag in our stroller everyday last summer because I learned my lesson. Then if it rained I could take off the sneakers, put them in the plastic bag to stay dry and wear the crocs. The blisters I had on my feet in 2003 when I learned my lesson have still not been forgotten. Be prepared for the rain but don't stress it- you will have a great time.

You should pack as much lite cotton as you can (tends to dry fast), shoes that are not hurt by water and rain gear. Be resolved that you are going to get wet and don't hide during a rain storm. Make full use of this time. Ninety percent of the people will duck for cover but if you ignore it, you can almost walk onto the more popular rides. I prefer the parks when the temps are freezing or during a storm. You almost have the park to yourself. :cool1:

Absolutely!! A pair of crocs and a poncho and you are good to go:dance3:

If it rains, just wait it out. More than likely it'll pass in a bit.

Also, as a DVC member you have tons of vacations ahead of you. Relaxing is good.

I know,we leave tomorrow!!!!I should be packing but nooooo, here I am on the disboards:lmao: Here's hoping for great weather!!!!!!

You can't tell, we live 80 miles north of Disney and some storms last for hours and some are over quickley.

We are also leaving tomorrow :cool1::cool1::dance3::dance3:

I saw that weather prediction and kept checking back every few days to see if it would change. But :guilty: no

i like the idea of two pair of sneakers, but i don't know if i have roomf or them :rotfl::rotfl:

i'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope the showers by pass us, although here at home everything is verrrrrrry dry and we could really use the rain.

It will be fine we are going to be at the "happiest place on earth!"
