???Question about the Monorail and Disneyland Hotel???

We are staying at the DLH for the first time on our upcoming trip and I am wondering if we should plan to take the monorail over to Disneyland in the mornings? Will the monorail begin operating right at 9am on a regular opening morning? Do they let you board a few minutes earlier? I'm assuming on our MM day we just need to walk over there.

Also, are there any standard view rooms with a view of the fireworks? Any room requests that are beneficial to make with a standard room?

If you plan to really be there at RD I would walk. Both days on our MM, they had CM's there but said they had a "delay". The one day we did not have MM, we walked, and we were about to get on Nemo when we saw the monorail pulling up. I think that was the first one to arrive. We only used the monorail during the mid-day.
