Question about the "Inferno is worthless" rumor mill

You used your "ins" with VMK Staff to keep it there longer didn't you? :rolleyes1

I have no in's with vmk staff. It just wouldnt make sense from a business strategy? they are trying to boost movie sales. If you read these boards you can see it is a strategy that is going to work :thumbsup2

Where do you see that? I just looked... it's unlimited use Inferno, single star...:confused3

Did you enter a code and that's what you received?

yes pink, that is exactly what is happening. You enter the code and it only gives you a one-time-use inferno. clearly they are not giving out what is advertised yet. In one place on the site it says "unlimited use", then when you click on the details it says "one star", which still could be unlimited, just one star. No where does it state "one-time use". So they are still not giving out the right prize. I would wait until they get this straightened out before entering any more codes.

Good point, you would think VMK would care they are ruing one of the most rarest items, wouldn't you? :rolleyes1 But then again, Disney would do anything for money...

I talked to some Host's during the Ride-a-thon last night and they said VMK is aware of the Inferno issue with giving 1 time use pins. They also added that they honestly have no clue what is going on and they can't personally do anything about it. They added that you should contact VMK with the information and also the code you used.

Before talking to the Host's though I spoke with whoever was on the other end of the Help Line. They said that they are still experiencing problems with codes from Disney Movie Rewards, and to send your code and explaination to the Contact Us for your redemption.

They've been "ruining one of the rarest items" since last October. Inferno isn't the first item, nor will it be the last, that they decide to release en masse. They are quite aware of what they are doing, because it's been their modus operandi for a while. ;)

Inferno should one day be worth as much if not less than (since there are already thousands in there) a Entertainment Center. Of course that'll probablly never happen as it'll stay artificially inflated... Then again, I imagine a day when it'll be quite common. Heh... Get those three Fire Windows while you still can. Haha.

As others have said... it's that percieved value that is making people consider it worthless.

I'm sure that there will still be a high demand for Inferno, despite the fact that there will be more in the game. Prices will simply be more reasonable than the insane amounts folks have been willing to pay for it.

Look at the pirate items; they were first released quite some time ago in the park quests, and since then, tons of them have entered the game via the real pin sets. But they are still highly tradeable, because they are designed so well.

In the end there's always going to be the "coolness" factor.

some good points. Also, dont forget, your average player only needs 1 theatre but would like a 5 star inferno :thumbsup2

Magic rules in VMK. It will hold more value than the other reward items. Until something bigger and badder comes out that is.
