Question about the Disneyland hotel

Sorry, I was mistaken -- I actually asked for the Fantasy Tower, not the Adventure Tower. I booked the top (ie most expensive) room at the DLH other than concierge or a suite, as far as I remember that was "Premium" but it was a year ago so I don't recall specifics on whether they called it premium pool or just premium. From the Fantasy Tower, a pool view would be the only room to fit that description; it's either pool or parking lot. Actually this happened to me two visits in a row.

When I asked at check in, they just said there was nothing available. When I complained about it (nicely), they upgraded us to a one-bedroom suite. This was last year ... I don't recall what happened the time before but I think they said it was a bigger room or something to that effect.

Ok. I am glad that you got a one bedroom suite.

For the last several years, we have done the Disneyland Hotel. You paid for the premium view and in our experience we have always gotten the view we paid for (I'm sure there are some instances where something happens and there is an issue with that, but I think that would be the exception, not the norm). As far as the Tower, we always request the Fantasy Tower and it seems like they always stick us (or try to stick us) in the Frontier Tower instead. Sometimes they have been able to move us to Fantasy if we are willing to wait, and sometimes they have not. I think you will probably have no issues with a request for Frontier Tower- you will likely be on a higher floor with a view of the pool there. We typically do the deluxe view, which is a pool view on a lower floor. One time when they could not move us to Fantasy they "upgraded" us to the premium view in Frontier, which just means that we were on a higher floor; however, from our higher floor room if you went to the window and looked to the side, it was a good view of Downtown Disney and DL- you could see the fireworks at night. The pool view from the Frontier is really nice and there is a gate to the pool very close to the building. It is also close to Trader Sam's. Being close to Trader Sam's did work out well for us because we would come back from the parks at night and while I got DD in the shower, DH would go over to Trader Sam's and get a drink and bring one back to the room for me.

LOL, my DH does the same thing! Can't beat the drinks from Trader Sam's.
