Question about the Canadian Cultural Exchange program

DD21 starts working at the Canadian pavilion this summer. My understanding is that she will (after a 3 month probationary period) be able to get 3 friends/family members in each day for a total of 12 days during her year.

I just read on another site that actually she gets that same deal 12 days during each "calendar" year. Is this correct? Because for her that would mean 24 days total (12 in 2008, 12 in 2009 before she comes home)!!!!! That sounds way to good to be true

That is correct, 3 people 12 times per calendar year. My son is currently down there now.

Thinking that she would only get 12 days, I ordered an annual pass (which came today) for myself and have planned a trip for August (before her 3 month probation - but there's no way I can go 3 months without seeing her) for her dad & I. My plan is to just get him the minimum pass possible.

The reasoning was my AP would allow her other family and friends to use the 12 days, and I planned to get the DDE to use for meal discounts, etc. for the group of 3 (whichever combination) whenever I was there.

Now that I realize she has 12 days to use just between October and December, and then another 12 to use January-June 2009 I'm kicking myself!

Should I just hold onto the annual pass for a few years and not activate it at all? I should be happy about all these extra days, but instead I feel like I just wasted a loooooot of money!

It's up to you. Will she have other friends and family visit more than 24 days? A lot of Canadian CMs will use their pass for others friends who don't get a "MainGate" as it is called. I used mine for my French roomate's family one day.

You can get the DDE with your pass but if your DD is with you she can just use her cast discount. Also you can get her discount for hotel rooms (same as you would with an AP).

Do you know how often she can get a room discount? I know that it is 50% when she stays in the room, and 40% if not, but I don't know how many rooms she is allowed and if she can get more than one at a time.

Also, can she use up two of her days and get 6 people into the park at one time?

I don't know about the hotel room limit (when I was a CM there were no restrictions) and no you cannot use 2 days at once for 6 people (at least you never could before)

What she should do is get a friend to help her out and then return the favour when the friend's family is there.

Believe it or not, not everyone's parents will visit every few months
