Question about the AAA Parking Pass

First off I didn't book my trip through AAA because I figured the cost was about the same planning and booking myself as the quote they gave me, and I am such a compulsive planner I just couldn't "trust" someone to do it as well as me!! LOL SOOO, my first question is, can I still get the AAA Parking pass from AAA if I booked myself, or is it just for people who have booked through them?

Second...is it worth having? I am traveling with three kids ages 6, 6 and almost 3 and I will probably rent a stroller there, so they will be walking to the gates. Someone told me if I had small children it is a little far to walk at the end of the night when all the kids are tired. So is it close enough to the gates to make it worth having??

Thanks!!

Getting one without a package is hit or miss - depending on the mood of the agent you ask - technically - it is for people who booled packages with AAA but some agents will give it to you

One time I went and they were all filled up by the time we got there - but if you go a little bit later youc an usually get in it

We have a stroller and found it well worth it - I hate getting my double stroller on and off the tram

but if your kids are walking - I would suggest you don't use it - there is still a little bit of a hike to the lot and the trams won't take you there - I think without a stroller it would be MUCH easier to hop on a tram

Actually, I just talked to AAA about this. My question to them was 'if I book a Disney hotel --ONLY-- through AAA, without park tickets because I have an annual pass, can I get the AAA parking pass?' I was told NO you must book ENTIRE package. :sad1:

I actually thought walking to the tram was quicker than the AAA lot. My kids like the ride on the tram also.

I bought only my tickets through AAA last year and they gave me a parking pass when I asked if I could get one. I'm not sure what the official rule is but it doesn't hurt to ask. ;)

It has been reported that some AAA offices will give you the pass for just asking.
The tram loading area is closer than the AAA VIP parking area. At the end of the day when the trams are crowded and you have to wait, the AAA parking area is definitely more convenient if you don't mind walking a little ways. Heck, you've walked all day around the parks!
Sometimes there are very nice people on this board that'll send you one either they because they don't need it or already used it. Or you can purchase one on ebay and then resell it when you get back.
