Question about Targe 75.00 BF purchase for 20% shopping pass

For those of you who recently bought Disney gift cards and noticed they rang up as "entertainment" or "Disney), what amounts were they? Wondering if maybe the newer $25 cards are ringing up differently than the $50 ones.

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

I went back and looked at my receipts. The $25 my DH threw in at 1am to get him over the $75 rang up "Disney" and the $50's I bought the beg of November when I had my last Rx Rewards certificate also rang up "Disney". I don't remember mine ever saying "Entertainment Cards". :confused3 I found another receipt from 8/2013 and again Disney shows but the iTunes shows as "Entertainment cards".

Are you feeling like them saying "Disney" is a detriment in some way with the 20% off coupons? Just curious for the thought process :) Strange how some states/stores are different!

Perhaps those going tomorrow first thing can you please also post if it did work or even if it didn't, what did they show up as? Disney or Entertainment cards? I will post as well, however since I'm also grabbing groceries and other items so I don't completely waste the 20%, it might not be right away.:hyper:

Thanks,
Heather

I still am feeling ok about our chances... The exclusions say gift cards , which we all know is the way target cards are coded in their system; and then they bothered to add a second exclusions for iTunes cards. This exclusion specifically calls out an individual entertainment card they offer in store. Now if the coupon had an exclusion for Disney cards called out for an exception, or it would have been just as easy to make an exception for all entertainment cards; I would be worried based on the apparent new coding but I'm happy that they aren't scanning as GiftCards at chez out.... The fact they may be scanning as Disney OR entertainment is irrelevant to how the coupon was originally written. It all depends on how the bar code was created at corporate. Let's just hope the people who were calling H.O asking if they would work didnt alert their corporate office to tweak the algorithm in the barcode to deny Disney cards.

I got two coupons, but will use the first one first thing Sunday morning. I just can't think of any big ticket items I need from Target right now! The only big thing I'm buying that I would really like a discount on are the WDW tickets and spending money for the dear relations (technically, DB is paying for their spending and food money, but if I can get him 20% off on that, it would sure be nice!)

I got my 20% off coupon this morning too. Since it says excludes 'gift cards' rather generically (i.e. not Target gift cards like the RedCard rules say), does everyone think this going to be a problem when trying to purchase Disney GCs?

You can only use two forms of payment to purchase tickets, including APs, ONLINE or by PHONE. You can use as many GCs as is necessary to make your purchase at a ticket window or guest services.

Can I use disney cards to pay for room only reservation?

Yes, but DON'T use online check-in. I've been told if you do online check-in, it will automatically charge the balance of your reservation to the credit card on file!

So, when you check in, tell them you want to pay for your reservation in full with the gift cards!

I got my coupon at about 8 am this morning(central). I ordered last night at 11. I have not received the mobile gift card I ordered, however. Spent an hour with target cs, still no gc. The 5th!!! Person I spoke to canceled the mobile and reissued a email gc, here's hoping it works!

Can I use them to call the reservation center to make a payment? Or is there a way I can make a payment online with them? I thought I had to pay 45 days in advance of my trip?

Could you NOT designate a credit card (during online check in) so they wouldn't automatically charge you? Then you could pay at check in.

In the past, the front desk has been able to refund the amount paid (deposit) back to my credit card, and applied gift cards. The CM I spoke with last night (calling for another reason), confirmed this. They can't/aren't supposed to do this over the phone, but can in person.

Forget my above post: it let me check in the first time without a cc, but when I went back in, it wouldn't let me go forward until I added one.

I called to ask about it and they said that you can change your payment method when you arrive at your hotel. So if you want to pay by another method, do it then.

still no coupon.:furious:

I placed my order about 2 pm yesterday if it doesn't arrive who would I call? the receipt arrived in my email ok, so I know they have it, & I DID spend over $85.

Let's hope, right?! :goodvibes

I'm still saying to myself ~ it will be totally awesome to save nearly 25% and I'll surely do a happy dance but I'm also trying not to be too let down if it doesn't work. I have no control over it and just need to tell myself that.

Between myself and my friend we will be getting quite a few so the savings are pretty noticeable.

I just called my local Target and spoke to the store manager.
He essentially did not know.

Best he could do was say "come on in and we'll try it."

So, still we wait.

POR refused to do this for us last week (even asked a supervisor). I didn't realize that they would charge my credit card for the balance when I did online check in. :(

Still the same situation here (Pacific time). Not sure what to do. I placed my order shortly after midnight central time and my receipt has 11/29 as the date so it should qualify right? $100 in Disney cards. Ugh

Hmmmm.....Hmmmm.....Honestly I don't even remember what I checked into and what I didn't...sounds like I need to make some calls ahead of time and confirm what is and what is not possible (undo online check-in)?

Can someone confirm that these can be used to purchase annual passes? I've used GCs to pay for a cruise before, but my cousin is getting conflicting info from CMs. One told her that only two forms of payment could be used. The other said she could use GCs, but only in the park or at a Disney Store - not online. She'd like to purchase them online before going to WDW in January.

I went 2 weeks ago and bought AP's- traded in AAA tickets for which I got the full value and used like 6 or 7 gift cards for the rest. Had no problems except one of the gift cards didn't work.
