Question about switching around points on a Ressie

Can I do this?

If I have transferred points from Boardwalk and I make an 11 month ressie, can I use my other left over VWL points for that same ressie at 7 months?

I have about 20 VWL points that will expire earlier than the BW points so can I have MS deduct 20 from the existing BW ressie and substitute the 20 VWL pts? Then I would like to bank the 20 BW points.

If there is still availability for that reservation at 7 months there would be no problem. If there is already a waitlist, MS will usually not allow the point reallocation since that defeats the intent of the 11 month home resort priority.

It certainly can't hurt to ask, but be prepared for the need to find another way to use those VWL points before they expire.
