In the brochure and on the DCL website, it looks like all of the cat. 11 standard inside staterooms have the beds set up so that the foot of the bed faces the door to the stateroom. In this type of arrangement if the ship were rocking, and you were laying in bed, you would not be rocking side to side with the ship, but instead your head and feet would be going up and down. I have been on cruises before and never had a problem with sea sickness, but I am hoping to be pregnant on this cruise and I am worried about that type of bed arrangement. Unfortunately I cannot afford an outside or deluxe inside cabin. MY QUESTION IS THIS: can anyone tell me if the beds in the cat. 11 cabins can be arranged so that they are parallel to the length of the ship? Or does the sofa bed fit 2 adults when pulled out?

A few of the category 11 rooms have the entry door on the side, but I think the cabin is set up the same inside as the others, so I'd guess those would have the bed in the direction you want.

KellyC,
I love the room set us this way!! I have never felt the motion more this way. I have been in a cat 12, 11, and 7 with navigator's verandah. I personally would rather have the cat 11, or 12 inside so we can have the bed facing us as we walk in. I didn't like having the bed then the sofa area, to much tripping over the end of the bed getting to the couch.:D

Thanks... anyone else with any opinions about those cabins? Can you just position yourself the other way on the bed or would it be too uncomfortable with the crack in the middle?
I spoke with someone at Disney and they said the beds cannot be moved, so any other people who have been in those cabins and want to let me know what you thought... please do.

We were in a Cat. 11 (6303 first cabin in the front, middle row) in June 2000 and did not feel any rocking whatsoever, forwards, backwards or sideways. I too liked the living room first and then the bed but am trying a Cat 6 next year for the veranda. Hope this helps.

I am still a little worried... I was thinking that even though Disney said the beds can't be moved, that does not seem possible to me. I know that they move them around to make 2 beds or 1 big bed, so it would seem that you could turn them as well. Does anyone know?

maybe there isnt enough room to turn them but to split them would be different

We always sail cat 11, I get sea sick. I have never had a problem in the cabin, except the very first night of our very first cruise. And then, lying down helped.
We have sailed in the "regular" and "sideways" cabins.
