question about staying in room with others

does anyone know if you can stay in a room with family members who are on
the dining plan
My daughters booked the free dining package but i have a annual pass.
right now its 1 adult and 2 kids, so 1 more adult does not go over the limit.
I am wondering if i can just stay with them and get just a resort id. I dont need the free dining. we were gonna do just room only but its the same price as room with the free dining. I just want them to know I am there too

I've never done this myself, but I've been told that you can add people after you check in as long as you don't go over the occupancy and they won't be tied down to the normal package rules.
If you're planning on arriving when they are though, you wouldn't qualify for Magical Express.

Yes, PP is correct. After your daughter checks in, you can be added to the room and get a room key and be an official guest of the resort, with no dining credits or tickets. But you can't ride ME unless she gets there first and adds your information before you arrive. You could take a cab or Mears shuttle to the resort and be eligible to take ME back to the airport, though.

Just to elaborate a little about DME for arrival. If you will be arriving the same day as the rest of your family you would have to arrange your own transportation. I believe DME requires a couple of days notice.

But once you are registered at the resort you could request that the resort arrange DME back to the airport for you.

And don't forget that there will be an additional room charge each night that you stay, since there will be more than 2 adults in the room.

The latest you can add a person to a reservation for "dining" is 72 hours before check-in. So if you are added to the room registration after that time, but before check-in, you can still get ME.

Don't know if we will luck out again this time, but the last couple times my daughter has joined us midweek (she didn't get our perks), I went to add her and they said no charge. Nice pixie dust for us! The time she signed it the same time as us, we did have to pay.

You can also just be added to the package to get the free dining. Then just save your ticket for next time you get an AP. If they have more than two day tickets have them bump it down to two (you save your ticket and use your AP) then they can add however many days they want after arrival.

That's what I would do. Have everyone purchase a 2 day pass, you can save yours for another time and they can upgrade to what they want. That way you can get the free dining credits.

As I understand it....Use your AP for ALL you days...if you don't activate your ticket, they will not expire and you can use it on another trip or towards the purchase of your next AP (free dining and use of ME for $176 isn't bad especially when you can use those tickets another time)

The people in your party who don't have APs can add more days to their tickets upon arrival

Not quite that simple. I believe everyone in the room on the package must initially have the same number of park days - the minimum is 2, so everyone, including you, gets a 2 day no hopping, no WP park ticket. That way everyone in the room will get free dinning - including you, which is worth a lot to you. You can also, of course, use DME if you are flying.
Obviously, everyone wants to go to the parks more than 2 days, so once you get there everyone but you upgrades their 2 day tickets to however many days and whatever type they want (hoppers? waterparks?) You use your annual pass - do not use your KTTW for entry, that way you have those never used 2 day tickets which you can 'cash in' in the future towards your AP or tickets on another trip.
I'm doing something similar w/ a bounceback this year.
