We LOVED "The Springs" section! It is close to everything! There is a bus stop right beside of it, its across from the pool, and near the two restaurants! We absolutely loved everything about SSR... the grounds, staff, bus stops, gift shop, Artists Pallette, pool, and so on. We would love to stay there again, but could not afford to do so so we are staying at Pop in 2008. Enjoy your trip and your stay! SSR has several bus stops actually, we just loved the location of "The Springs"! :thumbsup2

The Grandstand section is the first bus stop at SSR. We stayed in that section in September and it was perfect. We were very pleased with the bus service all around at SSR. It also is the first drop off on the way back.

It was fairly quiet when we were there but, there were quite a few times that the buses were standing room only by the time they got to The Springs. My youngest is 4 so, we prefer to have the kids sitting while on the bus. By staying in Grandstand we knew they would have a seat.

It was a very short walk to the main building and pool. That section also has a themed quiet pool that my kids loved. No slide but, great water features.

Have a great trip. SSR is a gorgeous resort. We absolutely love it.

For the most part any section you stay in will be fairly close to a bus stop. There are 5 total: Grandstand, Carousel, Paddock and Springs, and Congress Park...

Congress Park is our favorite area, it is the closest in terms of walking distance to DTD and the quiet pool has a great view of DTD. :thumbsup2

The carriage house (which is the main lobby area of the resort) is closest to the springs as a PP pointed out. That is where the artists palette (quick service restaurant) and the turf club (table service restaurant) are located, as well as the main feature pool, the spa, arcade, common area's, boats to DTD, and most importantly the gift shop (:lmao: ).

Remember the grounds are a little more spread out than most other resorts so a little walking may be required depending on where you end up staying. Also, you can always take a bus within the resort if it is more convenient (ie. catch a bus from the grandstand and get off at the springs).

SSR is a beautiful resort, hope you all have a great trip :thumbsup2

We also requested the Grandstand section. It was great being the first ones on and off the bus. It was very busy in August when we were there and people at the Springs section had to stand most of the time and a few times did not make it on the bus. There are also no que lines at SSR. We were over at that the Springs section one morning and decided to board the bus there. It became a free for all when the bus arrived. People were trying to get on the bus and there was not enough space for everyone. At the Grandstand section we never had a problem. Since you will be there in January this may not be a problem for you. Grandstand is also close to the main checkin area and the Springs pool.
