Question about special requests at dinners?

On the topic of Palo food being served in the MDR, my boyfriend once got the Palo filet in the dining room. But that was after his whole table was served really horrible meat for their steaks on the first night and they mentioned their disappointment in the food quality to the head server. On another night the Palo steaks appeared magically. I am pretty sure this was an exceptional circumstance and more a question of guest recovery in a case where they knew that they had a quality problem than anything that could ever be requested.

Yes I have known that to happen.

They made a fuss over me when they accidentally served a fish soup to me when I have it down as an allergy, I couldn't tell as it was a new soup and two of us had ordered soups and they were swapped over. But whilst I couldn't tell by looking one mouthful told me it was fish.

Oh, itis so funny how old fashioned this picture looks, those plates are quite hideous to 2015 eyes! I love old DCL pictures, just to see how much things have changed in little ways! Plates way better now, Soufflé still excellent! :cloud9:
Funny - I liked the Old Plates. There was the hidden Mickey on each plate.

We were on the cruise (don't remember which ship - Magic or Wonder) where they switched over. I know because we had both a brunch and dinner that cruise and even I noticed that the plates changed. I think that used them the first night / day that they were available.

I don't remember. Another dessert they brought out for us to try.
I understand .... Palo = death by food - and try this and this and this and this and this and this ... and none of this is on the menu ... the chef and cooks want to try something new ....

I have a question about the kids menu in the MDR's.

I see on the kids menu one night there is "minnie burgers" Can I ask the server to add cheese to it?

Also on the kids menu is pizza. One night it says "cheese pizza" would they be able to add pepperoni?

The pasta on the kids menu ONLY has either tomato or marinara sauce. Would be able to ask for a cheese base sauce like alfredo?

I am looking forwarded to encouraging the little ones to be adventurous in their food choices but I also know they will be asking me the questions above :)

You certainly may ask for whatever you'd like. If it's possible they will see to it. Or tell you otherwise.

There is no problem asking and if they can they will. Some cheese on a burger shouldn't be a problem.
Pizza, they can try a pepperoni pizza from up on deck to see if they like it. It's unlikely they will have pepperoni in the MDR galley unless they have it as an ingredient for one of the dishes.
Regarding the pasta, if there is a sauce on the adult menu, they can make a child size portion. Asking for a sauce made just for your kids is unlikely unless they have allergies.

my daughter has a not mainstream allergy and the first night we make due with help from our servers, then after that they bring her the menus for the next night ( kids and adult) and we are able to put her request in for the following night, also on castaway cay they have her order the day before and bring it to her off the ship

On our first Dream cruise in 2013 DS got mac&cheese at the MDRs each night. On our most recent cruise on Pirate night there was nothing on the adult menu I could stomach, and without looking to see if it was on the kid's menu I asked for mac&cheese (and some veggies). I got it.

Not sure about alfredo, but they were easy with my request. They've also offered simple noodles with butter.

Yep they have a bidirectional system for ordering food!
Kids can eat off the adult menu, and adults can eat of the kids menu!

Thanks everyone. I combed over the menus again and did see one night in animators there is a mickey pasta with alfredo.
