I was just looking at the skyauction site for the first time. What is the 195.00 fee for. I was looking at a property that the bid was $1.00, what does that mean? Also, is there a tax or resort fee added onto the weekly rate at the resort? As you can read, I have never done this before. It seems to good to be true.

the 195$ is a service and tax fee, to which they add a 15$ processing fee so you really start your bid out at 210$ then whatever you bid is added to this each time you submit a bid

depending on the auction there may be different conditions, the per night auction will add 32$ per night to the actual bid and then add 15$ processing fee ( of course it depends how many nights you would take how much it would cost )

there are no other taxes involved but some resorts that you win may charge a resort fee ( but we have never encountered this in the 10 or so auction we have been involved with )

once you win an auction they will charge the credit card on file

within a few days you will either get an email attachment or are directed to a url where you print out your "certificate" ( this is for the week type auctions, not sure about any others, although i think if there are "physical" certificates eg from a HOTEL chain they will fed ex them to you )

if you have any other questions .....post....there are a number of people who have used skyauction sucessfully and are happy with the experience

from our end, we have always received good customer service when we have called the 800#

thank you for the valuable info.

If I receive a bid for vistana villages, does anyone know if there is a resort fee per night added on? If it included a timeshare presentation, would it be listed. The only thing I read was that the resort would be 3 floors high, now I am thinking that it would be an old unit. I think the newer ones have more floors.:flower3:

having not ever stayed there, do not know about the layouts......but am sorta certain there is no added "resort fee" since it is a timeshare exchange you are going on and the amenities are usually covered in the "maintenance" fee

that being said, if there were recreational things like boats like they have at Orange Lake, i think you have to pay for them, golf would be the same at Orange Lake

you might also get some information about Vistana by

1. doing a search here

2. going to www.tug2.net ( you will have to register but it is free and there will probably be information from other timeshare owners ) ....you could also do a search there

3. do a search on trip advisor

those are what come to mind now....

You will be given an exact total - all taxes and fees - before you decide to place your bid. If your bid of $2.00 wins, you will be paying the $2 + the $195 for the week - so your week's stay would cost you $197. I think that's how it works. I won a per night hotel room for $20. So that's $20 + the $35 tax and fees. That's $50 per night. Then add the $15.00 processing fee that skyauction charges to that. You will see it all before you decide whether you want to place the bid. There are no hidden costs. :)
