Question about selling points

Instead of selling points through a reseller or right back to Disney, can a member sell points directly to another person? I know of a guy who is having a very hard time financially. He already sold some points and may need to sell more. Could he sell them directly to someone who wants to buy them?
If so, could you explain how this process would work?

If you are talking about selling his actual timeshare interest in DVC, then the contract would have to be sold in full. You cannot split up a contract and sell only part of it. The sale would still have to go through Disney's Right of First Refusal, so any good "deal" would likely just be bought back by DVC. Not much advantage to the buyer in these cases.

If you are talking about "renting" points for a one time vacation reservation, then that would be a whole different story..
