Can someone tell me if complimentary tickets are transferrable? Is there a board for selling tix? I received complimentary tickets for disneyland because when I went in Feb 2003, it seemed like everything was down. I waited in 5 lines where the ride ended up stopping and I was on 3 rides where the ride stopped... So they gave me these tix which I live in NY and don't see myself going back to CA before Feb 16th. I hope I posted this question in the right place, if not please let me know where I should ask my question. Thanks :)

Katy71- I emailed you although, I still have to talk with a manager on Monday to straighten everything out.

Does anyone know if complimentary tickets are or are not transferable?

I will be talking with a manager, but I'd like to know if anyone else had this experience with Disneyland before I speak with the mgr. The thing is the manager gave me the wrong tickets so I'm going to see if they will fix it for me. Anyhow, I will still have to sell them and they don't expire until Feb 16, 2005. Does anyone have advise for me, I've never done this before.

Thanks in advance.

It turns out that my tickets are nontransferrable :(

What do I do with them... I won't go back there, and I personnally did not like disneyland.

Does anyone know if I can exchange these tickets at DisneyWorld? I can see myself going back there in the next year or so.

Hasn't anyone had this experience.. Do you just let the ticket go to waste?

Please help!

:( :(

All Disneyland tickets "say" they are nontransferable but that does not prevent them from being sold or given away. What do these tickets saw on them? Do they look like regular tickets? Or do they say "Comp" or something on them? I have used "nontransferable" tickets before with no problems. My dad went with his group home and they had 13 tickets with one day left on each, so we used them, with no trouble.

They look the same but they say complimentary on the back. And they say issued to: my name. All 5 of them. I'd like to be able to give them to family or sell them if family won't go in the next year, but I would not like to sell them and then the purchaser was unable to use them.

When we went it didn't seem that anyone was checking the tickets. At WDW though, is another story, sometimes they check and sometimes they don't.

Do you think its okay to sell them? Please say YES.

I already feel that going there was a waste of money. IMO I expected something different. I like that I went for the experience but I wouldn't go again.

Anyone who has an experience selling their tickets that have their name on it please let me know.

Thanks!

If they have your name on them then I wouldn't risk trying to sell them because they may (or may not) check for ID. Wish I could tell you different but....

You seem to want us to tell you it's ok to do something that's clearly against the rules and unethical. The tickets say they are non-transferable and they also have your name on them.

They were given to you as a gesture of good faith because you had a bad experience at the park. They were meant for you to try the park again and give it a second chance. They absolutely were not meant for you to sell.

Your situation is not the same as someone who has a remaining paid day on their ticket that they cannot use so they give or sell it to someone else. You did not pay for those tickets and now you want to sell them. Tom.

Thats one way to look at it, but I believe that it is unethical to tell a customer that yes you will get tickets comparable to what you already purchased and you will be able to come back anytime, when in fact, that is not true. He took advantage of the fact that it was the end of the night, I had a big line behind me and everyone was so tense, so he was rushing me out of there. I didn't expect the Disneyland Manager to lie about what he was doing.

Several rides were down and breaking down during the time that I went. Considering that I paid over $6,000 to go to California to go to Disneyland, I think if I was given tickets that I will not be able to use in a year, that I should be able to either give them to someone I know or sell them.

Disneyland didn't seem to think it was unethical that I paid alot of money to be at their amusement park and so I can stand in many long lines that ended because the ride was suddenly down or that I couldn't ride the rollercoaster in CA which was supposed to be the highlight of my trip. Or that I was stuck on 3 other rides.

For that matter, I believe all tickets have your name on them, don't they? The reason I posted the question here, is because I heard that there is a way to sell these tickets, so before I made a mistake I wanted some input.

If I wanted to be "unethical" I think I would have just posted the tickets on ebay or somewhere else. Believe me, if there was a way to sell them I wouldn't get rich off of it, what are talking about $100? I just don't want the tickets to go to waste.

I'm not trying to be disrespectful, but I was upset once I realized that the tickets are not what they are supposed to be. If they won't fix it, I shouldn't have be stuck with tickets burning a hole in pocket. I'm almost positive that I won't ever go back to DL.

You can look at this way, they didn't have to give you anything at all. They did so as a way to make it up to YOU to give YOU another chance to visit the park.

And no the only tickets that I know of that have names on them are the AP's. Which also can not be sold to another party just because you won't get any (more) use out of them.

I was greatful to get something, but my frustration comes from that he wasn't truthful about the kind of tickets they were giving me. So, the bottom line, is that I cannot sell these tickets. I wanted to know if anyone here ever did sell these tickets with success, but it doesn't look like it. It looks like these tickets will be waisted and for that I definately will not go back there.

WDW on the other hand is a different story. I love going there, and the over all experience is different. I also, find the employees to much more happy and helpful.

Thanks for the input.

Hi,
We were at Disneyland the first week of December. We didn't sign our tickets. The first day know one said anything or did they check anything. The next day we had to show ID and sign our tickets. Our party was 13 of us. We all went at many different times. I know some of us were checked and some us weren't. So How would you beable to sell them and know for sure someone will be abe to use them. If they can't are you going to refund their money? sounds like a bucket of worms to me!!!

Thatmom-

That is exactly the kind of information I'm looking for, thanks. When we went to DL, they didn't check any of our tickets and we went to different parks seperately, and if I recall, all of the original tickets had my name on them too. But, because I could tell a hugh difference between DL and WDW, I wondered if the tickets were checked at the entrances.

I guess the tickets will just go to waste. Oh well. I appreciate everyones response. :(
