Question about Safari/Tusker House dinner...

My family and I are traveling in a party of 12 in October..therefore eligible for grand gatherings.

Have any of you been on the AK Safari with Dinner/entertainment afterward at Tusker House??

Can you briefly describe what the experience was like? Would children ages g3, b5, g6, b7, b10 and g14 be interested??

IMO, Flame Tree is a better meal than Tusker House but with the entertainment I thought this package might work out nicely.

Any help offered will be appreciated.

I've done it twice and really liked it.

You start off meeting at the Wings of Flight pavilion with a couple of "streetmosphere" people who run some introductions. Then you go outside to a reserved viewing area for the Jammin Jungle Parade. Then back inside Wonders of Flight for more entertainemnt.

Then as the park is closing you walk over to the Safari ride, with each group boarding together. You may have more than one group on a safari vehicle, depending on the group size. The ride is a lot slower than normal and you don't get involved with poachers. Sometime the driver may even stop for improved photo opportunities.

After the Safari you go to Tusker house for a seated meal. I don't have a copy of the menu, but there is an assortment of foods served family style. Groups are seated at long tables, with no more than one group at a table. If a group requires more than one table they are given adjoining tables. Beer and wine are extra cost options, paid for separately.

During the meal there is a small group playing African music, and for entertainment there are a couple of dancers. Around the end of the meal a couple of Characters will show up, also some animal handlers with small animals to entertain the kids.

The kids would definitely go for this. And the food is NOT the regular food from the Tusker House public menu.
