Question about room discounts

If you have ever used a cast member discount I have a few questions. We will be able to get one from a family member and I was wondering about a few things.
Would you be able to PM me since i know there isn't supposed to be too much discussion about those on the boards. Thanks.

1) CM's get two discounts
. . . one significant discount if they stay in the room
. . . a smaller discount for their family and friends, if the CM does not stay in the room
2) In many cases, public discounts are better than CM discounts, if CM not in the room.

NOTE: Some CM's have gotten the deeper discount by claiming they are staying in the room, then they do not stay in the room. The result was termination, since Disney considered it employee theft (by taking more of a discount than they deserved).

The CM also has to show their ID when you check in.
