Question about ride max

Hi,

I will be in Disneyland next week on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Not sure if the parks will be busy or not or if ride max is worth it. I will be with my 10 yr old. Last time we were there was 5 yrs ago so much different agenda this time. She wants to go on all the rides she was too little for last time. Would the single rider line work? Could we make sure we are on at the same time even if not next to each other? Also not sure about fast pass rules. Can we get one for world of color and not have it count towards our allotment for the day?
I appreciate any help.
Thank you.

I don't know about how busy it will be, but I felt like ridemax was worth it. But you need a little time to play around with it. I felt like even if you get it and just read the tips, that alone was helpful. It just wasn't expensive - like $15. Somewhere (maybe on their website) they make the valid point, that we spend thousands of dollars on a pricey vacation so the $15 to make sure that your time is well spent is a drop in the bucket. If you have read up around here and now lots already, maybe it wouldn't be worth it. However, I read a lot and still felt like it was worthwhile. When you break it down, it is $5 a day for your park days to cut back the amount of time you wait in line. To me that is worth it!

While you could go on SR, I would think twice with a 10 year-old. No, you would not be able to make sure you're on at the same time. If the ride were to get stuck, could she handle being on it and/or being evacuated without you? Could she handle it if you were supposed to come out first, but she did instead and you were stuck? I have a fairly independent 10 year old and decided against it.

As long as you get your FPs efficiently (get the busiest rides first and watch your windows printed on the ticket for when you can get the next one) and arrive at the park 30 minutes before opening, getting the big rides done before 2 hours after park opening if at all possible, you're not likely to need SR the week you're there.

WOC FPs do not count towards your other FPs, they're totally separate.

I think Ridemax is the most accurate of the touring plan software. However, big drawback is that there's no mobile app. So you have to either make your plans before you leave, or do it the night before each time. I like Ridemax, but every time I've thought I would go online the night before to plan out my next day, I'm too tired and never do. Personally the $15 or so it costs is not a big deal to me, so I've purchased it, but we often go off the plan. It's good to use as a guideline. And I agree with playing around with it ahead of time.

The last week of August is a great time to go. We've gone that week several times. Have used Ridemax ahead of time to plan things out and get a general idea of what to do when, but haven't really found we've needed it all that much.

Note: I assume you mean the last week of August and not the first week of September. Labor Day will be very busy.

Thank you. I had not even thought about rides breaking down. I don't think she could handle that too well.
We will be there starting Monday so last week in August. I just wasn't sure how busy it generally is the week before the Labor Day weekend.
Thanks for the tip about Ride Max. I thought it was mobile. What I read made it seem like that.
What about using Mouse Wait for tracking times? Is it pretty accurate?
Looking forward to our trip!
Thank you.

Not just that. Part of the experience is doing it together. One of our favorite park memories is the first time on big thunder mountain it just started and I said to DD watch out for the loop de loop and she freaked. We still laugh about it.

That last week of August is when we normally go. The parks are not bad during that time. The CA schools have all gone back.

MouseWait is fairly accurate, but ONLY if someone has recently submitted a time. All of their times as based on real-time user submissions, so if you want to know at 11:30 what the wait time is for Peter Pan and the last time someone submitted a wait time it was 15 minutes at 9:00, the information is worthless. By that time PP would have a 45 minute wait. MouseWait does show what time the information was submitted, so at least you'd know it was old info, so I guess that's good.

I checked the accuracy of just about every app there was when we were in the parks a few weeks ago and didn't find any of them to be all that helpful.

Otto is my new best friend. It's the phone number you can call while in the park to get current wait times. All the info is direct from DL. 714-520-7090. It was very accurate every time I called. And it's quick.
