Question about Renting points (new DVC )

Hello I'm in the process of closing, I'm not interested in renting my points at the moment since we just decided to purchase our DVC and want to take our first trip with the family, but if in the future If I was to decide I wanted to rent my points which I didn't purchase a lot because we don't plan to go to Disney trips every year we do go every 2 years or so. But if in case we weren't able to use them how do you rent them so they don't get lost? I rented some points from a DVC member on Facebook but seen a lot of renting here on disboards and wanted to know what do I need to do to make sure I do it right here on disboards. Thank in advance.

I've used a third party to rent out my points in the past. It went very smooth. You have the option of renting them out yourself. Please take time to read the link Mike provided for you.
