I have annual passes that expire on 9/25/09. If I renew on line it is my understanding that I get a voucher and I have to pick up the actual pass at the park. Does the voucher have an expiration date? I am curious because of the current 15 month extension offer. I will not be at the parks until May. If the 15 month extension isn't in effect then will I still get the extra 3 months? If I don't get the additional time it will not be worth it to renew. Thanks for your help!:confused3

I think, but could be wrong, you have to renew your AP within 30 days of expiration. You can buy the voucher ahead of time but it has to be turned in closer to the expiration.

If you expire in Sept. but are not going until May, why would you be renewing? You would be covering 8 months (Sept to May) that you are not there. Why not get a new one in May 2010--it would then be good until May 2011.

if you RENEW online, you will get a voucher that you exchange for your live pass. Live APs are not sent via mail. HOWEVER, if you renew, your new pass use year will begin the day after your original pass expires (9/26/09), no matter how long you wait to exchange your renewal voucher. That renewal AP will expire 15 months from 9/26/09, not matter what. So yes, you would get the 15 months on a renewal pass deal. The voucher does not have an expiration date, but the pass you can receive will be dated according to your renewal date.

You will be better off buying a new AP when you visit in May, unless you will be getting another visit between May and 12/26/10.

We will be going in May of 2010 and again in the fall of 2010. I was thinking about renewal because the price is cheaper and we could still get in 2 trips if we get the 15 month renewal. Is that a good idea or would I be better off buying a new pass in May? Opinions please!

After your Sept 2010 trip, will you be back before May 2011? If not, then yes, the renewal with the 15 month option works out for you.

If, you may return sometime between Dec 2010 (expiration of the renewed pass) and May 2011 (expiration of the new pass), then I would go with the new pass, as that will cover the May 2010 trip, the Sept 2010 trip, and another trip prior to the May 2011 expiration--so possibly 3 trips.
