Question about possibly getting an IS lens

I'm sorry. I should have pointed out that I completely disagree with the tone of the article. I would never imply that someone is a dolt (well, unless they were). I do agree with the general idea that the equipment is an important part of the equation, but I " it's the photographer not the camera" comment is made to counter people's gear obsession.

As someone with some very good equipment, I can definitely say that I've seen a lot of better pictures taken with much less expensive gear.
