Question about Popcorn Buckets

I was wondering how the refillable popcorn bucket works, the price, etc.

-I saw on the app that the regular bucket is $12, however I know that Disney also sells fancier buckets, like ones in the shape of Mickey or whoever that come with a lanyard/string. Are these buckets the same price or do they cost extra?

-Which bucket do most people prefer? Do you like the regular classic bucket or is the one with the string better?

-I am planning on going to WDW during different months this year, is my refillable bucket good for the entire year?

Thanks

The special buckets cost more. I think $18-$20. I bought some last trip and use them as a decor. This trip I just bought a regular bucket. At the park when you refilled for $2 they gave you a box of it.
Technically bucket is good for only the length of stay but if the design doesn’t change then you can make that choice.

Those big popcorn "buckets" look very heavy hanging around people's necks.

While I love the "special buckets" figure it is a souvenir, they are a little cumbersome to carry, one reason miss the days of a stroller..lol. If the design is the same you could get away with brining it on multiple trips throughout the year. I am an huge popcorn fan/consumer, so even if you opt for the $12 bucket it's definitely worth it to purchase if you are going to get popcorn as often as I do lol.

When we last went to Disney pre-covid, someone in our group bought the refillable plastic bucket but don't recall how expensive it was. You could get it refilled for a price that was less then buying popcorn on its own. I think they tossed theirs in the trash when our vacation was over. Unless you eat a ton of popcorn, I think it is more of a Disney novelty. Not sure if any of that has changed due to covid.

At $2 a popcorn refill is an affordable snack. I buy one of the regular plain Jane buckets and carry it with us. Current procedures do not allow the CM to full your bucket and you will be given a paper box to pour into your bucket. The current paper box was designed by Jeff Granito.PhotoGrid_Plus_1612627506740.jpg
