Question about points and canceled vactions??

As a new DVC member, I was hoping I could get the answer here wihtout having to call MS.

I am going to be making ressies for December 2008 in a few weeks. I am bringing family and will have more than one room. My sister is hoping that her DH will not be sent to Iraq but if he is, she may not go. What is the latest date I can cancel and then still ahve regular points? Or can that happen? Will I be able to bank points still before a certain date?

Let's say she canceled in August, Could I still bank my points. I have an August use year so I would be using August-08 points for these ressies.

For your Dec 08 trip, using Aug 08 points... As long as your reservatin is cancelled with Member services at least 31 days prior to your scheduled arrival, the points will return to your account without penalty. 100% of Aug 08 points can be banked until the end of March 09, under the new banking rules.
