Question about Pin with Magic Bands

MDE shows that my husband and I have a pin and "To reset your PIN please visit your Disney Resort hotel Front Desk for assistance." Would this be the same pin I used 3 years ago and do not have a clue what I used? And does this mean even though we are checking in at 11pm and planned to be at AK for rope drop I have to add time in to stop at the front desk to change the pin number? Or is there any other way to do this that anyone knows of?

You can reset it through MDE using a computer using the following steps:
1) Log into MDE
2) Under My Account in the drop down tab, click My Profile
3) Click Payment Method (2nd from the bottom)
4) Under Disney Resort Hotel Guests, click Reset Room Account Pin

I had the same issue and was able to fix it as stated above.

Another question -- my 2 kids are not listed but there is a box that says "check here for entire party to have same PIN". Is there a way for them to have a different PIN?

Yes don't check the box and give them a separate pin.

Yes and yes.
My sister made our PIN in December 2013 and even on a trip that I went on solo the PIN remained the same.
Its one that we will not forget either.

On the last trip with my husband and I, he was going to buy something at the Poly store and forgot the pin. So he went to the front desk and changed it. Unfortunately they changed it for me too and I was in the Magic Kingdom using the magic band for charging.
Of course it didn't work so I used my credit card and when he met up with me I told him our charging with the magic band wasn't working. That's when he told me he'd changed the pin. Sigh.......

So if you change the pin, make sure you tell everyone in your party the new pin number.
