Question about PIN codes

I have received many emails and post cards in the past with discount codes, but have never been able to use them! Now DD has talked us into a quick trip December 5-10. We are booked already at the Dolphin, but would love a moderate if the price is right.
My question is: In the past I have read that one can call Disney reservations and ask if there is a PIN in their name. Is that still true? Which number would I call--the 800-WDISNEY?
