I am not sure about any examples. Have a picture taken of you from the top of your shoulders up. Just a heads shot with nothing in the background. This has always worked for me. If they don't like it at the port they will take another photo of you there.
 

I crop any photos of me that clear. I just cropped out my DH for my cruise in September.
 
I cropped my son's gf out of their prom photo to use for his cruise picture, my daughter had a good selfie. Shoulders up, plain(ish) background (prom photo had some trees in the background) and not your passport photo is all they really need. Don't worry if you get "pending review" when you submit it. Mine have always taken a few weeks to get approved.
