Question about Parking.

Hi all. We are planning a trip for April staying at SSR and renting a car. We were not going to hit the parks for arrival day but we were going to drive over the 1900 Park Fare for dinner. Now that we are arriving the night before and staying at an airport hotel, we are thinking of heading over to MK in the afternoon after we check in at SSR and then doing 1900 Park Fare. So here are my numerous questions:

1. Can I park at the Grand Floridian in the afternoon head to MK and then 1900 Park Fare and then head home? (Normally I would plan to take the bus to MK, but I have reservations at the GF.)

2. Is all parking included at other Disney hotels when you are staying at a Disney resort?

3. Is valet parking parking included when staying at a Disney resort?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Amy

Parking at any WDW Resort with the intention of visiting a theme park is not allowed, even if you have an ADR and will be coming back later on. So even if you are staying at a WDW Resort you are no different then an off site guest, because you are only allowed 3 hours parking. Plus some Resorts might turn you away if you are not there for an ADR. So parking is not included at other Resorts just because your staying onsite. Valet parking is free for DVC members, however I am not sure if it's only at DVC Resorts and it's also free for those who have the DDE card and you must show a reciept from the restaurant you went to.

We've done this several times with valet parking. We've been very up front with the valets and they have never said anything about it not being allowed. We have been told that we can't self park and go to the parks, but never that we can't valet park and go to the parks. We've been encouraged to do so on a couple of occations (WL and Poly).

We usually go during slower times and we are willing to pay for our valet parking (even though as DDE and DCV members we usually only have to pay for the tip) and we've had no problems. I know that Disney has said to some guest in emails that this is not allowed but in practice they allow it all the time

1: No. Guests not staying at a given resort but visiting it for dining or shopping generally get a three hour parking pass to be placed on the car's dashboard.
2: See # 1. Any person driving to a Disney resort to shop or eat is allowed to park there, for the above-mentioned maximum three hours
3: Please explain "included". Is it free? No. Valet parking isn't even free if you're staying at the particular resort. Can anyone pay for valet parking at a resort? Sure.

Hey all. Thanks for the info. It appears I could probably get away with doing it, but I would then have to live with "having done the wrong thing."

Valet parking is free to DVC members at select resorts weather the member is staying there or not.
