Hi, everyone! I have a vacation package booked for December/January. My husband and I are driving down, but before the end of the trip, my husband is leaving and taking the car with him. Will Disney only charge me the days I have a car on site or will I have to pay for the entire time? Does anyone have any experience with this scenario?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Summer 2018 we rented a car for part of our trip. We told the front desk and they only charged us parking for when we had the car. I don't know if anything has changed since then though.

You need to stop at the front desk the day he leaves to let them know that you no longer have a vehicle parked there. Otherwise, you will likely be charged for the entire stay.
I'd also suggest you check your folio before asking abut this. There is a chance that they forgot to charge you in the first place.

Just let front desk know that you dont have the car there anymore, It is activated off the magic band when you go through the gate and if you dont let them know you will be charged the whole stay

I read on another thread that if you don't move the car you are not charged, it was only when you went in and out of the resort that it registered for the parking charge. Is that incorrect? If I was to arrive in a car for 10 nights and didn't move it for 5 nights, would I still be charged for 10 nights? I know it sounds unlikely but I read it on another thread so I'm now confused.

We never move our car until we check out. We were charged for our entire stay every trip since they started the fee.

Disney knows your car is there--they will charge you. I think there have been minor cases where they forgot or didn't charge, but that's pretty rare.

I’ve had a rental car on site four times since the parking fee was implemented and have never once been charged. No clue why.

They will charge you for your whole stay unless you tell the the car left. The fee is a joke but that is what we have to deal with now. Somehow they are able to identify that you have a vehicle. Either when you arrive or by magic band in and out. Take magic express and the onsit a Lyft or Uber will be less..

That thread is incorrect. I have never heard of any resort not charging you because you did move your car. They will charge you everyday. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest-services/parking/
