Are Park Hoppers - not the kind put on room tickets but the regular paper ones - coded with names?

OK - I'm not trying to cheat the system, because I think this is completely fair. When my family goes down next month, I'm going to purchase APs for the four of us. However, we have four PHs still from our last trip. My ILs will be joining us for this vacation. I would like to give them the PHs to use. However, if it has our names encoded, and we are also using APs to enter the park, will we be considered to be doing something wrong? Since I know you can't share an AP, I didn't know if sharing a PH is a problem.

As far as I know, this would not be a problem. Your names aren't encoded on them, I don't think. I don't think they care who uses the days since they aren't unlimited as with APs.

The park hoppers do mention that they are non transferable but there is really no way for them to tell who used them last. Give them the tickets and have a great time.

And this may be a reason why the new MYW tickets are supposedly going to be biometric....

I don't think it matters. DH is always the keeper of the tickets and when we enter the park he just takes them out of his wallet and passes them out at random. I know a few times I've wound up with my younger DDs (child's) ticket - they don't really pay attention. I guess that is going to end with the new system, though.

::yes::

For now, the paper park hoppers TECHNICALLY are non-transferable, but there is no way to check at the turnstiles really. I upgraded a park hopper at Guest Relations before and they asked me the last park I had been to to ensure that I didn't steal the tickets or whatever.

But, the new MYW will be biometric. They will code the guest who uses them, and then they won't work for anyone else afterward. And I believe they will have each individuals name on them so if someone challenges the biometrics they can just check your ID.

So I guess technically I'm not supposed to pass them on. But they don't track them. Got it. I paid for these park admissions, though. I guess I will let my conscience be my guide. Thanks everyone.

should not be a problem. You purchased the tickets and now are using them. Go ahead with a clear conscience.

I think Disney says that non-transferable part to avoid re-sales. If you get tickets from a stranger on e-bay, and they want to gyp you, you're out of luck. There is no way to check how many days are left on a ticket until you get to a Guest Services office. They have no way of knowing if you bought that ticket, or your in-laws did. As a previous poster said, we have a group of 5 tickets, and no way to know who belongs to what ticket at the end of a long day.
