We'll be leaving for WDW tomorrow morning  and I have a question about Catholic churches in the Orlando area. I don't know if this would be better posted somewhere else, but with our emminent departure, I know this is the board with the most activity, so bear with me!

My DH and I really loved our church in Philadephia. Since we moved to Kentucky 5 years ago, we've missed the services we were used to (i.e. traditional hymns, homilies focused on the Scripture readings for the day). Here, we have LOTS of contemporary music, very light-hearted sermons, etc. I was wondering if there's any Catholic church in the area that's more on the conservative side?

Please note that I'm not being judgemental or critical of anyone, it's just a matter of preference! It would esp. mean alot to my DH if I could work this out!

Thanks so much!

the mary queen of the universe shrine is right outside the disney property. it's an amazing experience and a beautiful place. the mass was wonderful and calming as well.

I would second Mary Queen of the Universe. It's a very beautiful church and also has a GREAT mass. We attend the sunrise service every Easter morning. It's not hard to get to either. Best place in my oppinion.

My advice is to call the rectory of the church you are planning on visiting and ask them about a traditional Mass service so you are not surprised. I am an organist for my parish. Of course, I play for the traditional services, however, there are modern services with guitars etc. You might ask first and tell them what you are looking for. God Bless!

Would like to echo that Mary Queen of the Universe is in the traditional Mass style. We have been to Mass here several times.
