No - youre not. And he is one of my Senators. I heard of my other senator - he was / is always in the news, doing interviews, etc etc....not this guy.

And FTR - I dont like him. I dont like who he's affiliated with. I do - not - like - him - at - all.

He's been on my radar since I saw him at the DNC in 2004..In fact when I saw him speak I called my husband into the room to see him and said that he would be president one day. I read his books too... There has been a lot of chatter about him since 2004 and I was not at all surprised that he was running for president.

Outside of IL, his only previous major exposure was his address at the '04 Dem Convention so I'm not surprised that many had never heard of him before he announced he was running. If you can find that '04 speach on u-tube it's worth the effort, it was an amazing speach! I watched it and thougt to myself "this man will be President someday!". I didn't think it would be this soon, though!

It's kind of sad that anyone from Illinois would state they hadn't heard of Obama before he started running for president. I mean, he has been your state's senator for 4 years, now.

I'll start worrying about that when you start worrying about Reverand Hagee. The difference between the two is that Obama rejected even the implied endorsement of Farrakhan...while McCain courted that of Hagee.

Exactly - thats the point. You dont see him on the news, or anything for that matter - at all. You can beleive what you want, but we didnt.

And it isnt Louis Farrakhan's endorsment Im so worried about (had you read the link) it his affiliation with his spiritual advisor. We'll leave Louie out of it, for now.
