DH and I have a cabana booked at RPR for one of the days we're there in August. My favorite cousin lives about a hour from Orlando, and her and her hubby are going to meet us a Tchop chop that night for dinner...but I was thinking that if it didn't violate any policies, I might invite them to spend the day at the pool/share the cabana with us....but I haven't completely made up my mind...ya know? I can see why RPR wouldn't want just anyone off the street coming in, but if I do invite them up for the day, could they share our cabana with us, or is this a big no-no?

If the answer is no, then I guess my mind is made up:thumbsup2.

Just give the hotel a call and ask. There have been people on the boards reporting that they had guests at the pool but policies often change.

When we went a while back my brother who lives in orlando came to meet us for lunch at the Bula bar. I went to front desk ahead of time and told them he was meeting us to spend the afternoon at the pool before we headed to the parks and they said no problem and even gave me a parking pass to stick in his car. They said he would have to pay the parking fee but never ended up charging him/us for it. Have a great trip:thumbsup2

My sons friend in college met us for the day at HRH when we had a cabana. We cleared it through the front desk and no problem. :)

hotel guests are allowed to have guests! I invited my niece over to swim with us while we were there and they had absolutely no problem with it!

Last year we met off-site friends at Margaritaville for supper and they got the boat back with us to RPR and spent the evening in the pool with us. It was great fun and there were no questions asked.

Out of interest is there anything to stop just anyone coming into the hotel and using pool etc?
I know one review for RP complained that non hotel guest were walking in halls by the rooms, which he felt was bad security. Was a bit surprised you didn't have to use key card to get in doors to towers.

I am sure they will let you have a guest as I have read that others have done same in the past.
Have fun :thumbsup2

You need a key card to get into the pool.

I can't remember about the hotels at WDW but the Disneyland hotels don't require you to have a key to get to the rooms.

Thanks for the information guys, I appreciate it. I'll talk to the front desk once we get on property!

Never had to use a key to get into the pool. You could easily walk in off the street and use the facilities. Only thing they may want to see a key for is a towel?

Don't know about RPH but when we were at HRH a key was required to access the non-main entrances to get into the hotel. On our check-out day my key no longer worked after we came back from the parks and I had to wait for another guest to open the door. Not sure about the pool though.

We have needed a key to get into the RPR pool and into the smaller pool at PBH. And to get towels at HRH.

This is what happened to us when we visited from RPR. There were locked gates and doors and our RPR key wouldn't open them....of course....so we had to wait for a guest of the hotel....or walk around to the front.
