We will be at Epcot on New Year's Eve. Do you pay an additional price to stay in past the normal park hours? (two of the 3 of us, have APs) Also, do they pass out hats and party favors or do you pay for them or just bring your own???

They extend the hours at MK, Epcot and Disney Studios. They have a private party at Pleasure Island that you can purchase tickets for. You don't need any additional ticket to get into the other parks. You just need to be able to get in. It will be wall to wall and the parks may be closed from time to time during the day to new guests. We were at Disney Studios last NYE and got party hats and favors at no extra charge. They had the best fireworks display at midnight (Sorcery in the Sky). The bands were also very good. They showed Fantasmic at least three or four times that night.

But it's really, really fun. We had a blast and would do it again. After spending NYE at WDW, we'd rather do NYE than Christmas (and we've done that a few times).

We spent NYE 2002 in MK. You need to pick a park and be there early in the morning - plan to stay all day because they shut down the entrance by around 11:00am that morning and wouldn't let anyone else in. Unfortunately, it started pouring the rain around 8:30 and rained all the way through midnight - but it did clear out the park significantly and we still had a blast playing in the rain. They'll have different spots where you can go pick up your hat and horn. From Main Street, you could see two sets of fireworks. Could of course see those over the castle, but could also see fireworks from Epcot (I think) by turning around and looking toward the exit!

We did NYE 2004 in Epcot. We arrived before opening. Planned to stay all day/all night. Received party hats/horns. Park was CROWDED! Got caught it a huge traffic/people jam about 9 p.m. Made us incredibly nervous with our children with us. Decided to head back to the room and watch the ball drop with Dick Clark instead. Had we not had kids with us, my dh and I might have braved the crowds ourselves...but this people jam was so terrible, you can't even imagine. Not worth it, IMO. We'll take Disney in Sept. or October anytime!

Well, I really want to see WDW at the holiday time and I don't want to take DS out of school. We have been there during several Spring Breaks and didn't think it was all that bad until this last year. I've never seen such a crowd at MK as we saw for Wishes one night during last Spring Break. I hope we can hold out at Epcot for the whole day. It will be DS (age 13), DM (in a wheelchair), and me. Luckily, we are staying at the Swan so we can walk back to the hotel. I would hate to think of the lines for the monorail and buses!
