Received this from our travel agent. If I read it correctly - it means that once the child has the last dose, the are considered fully vaccinated? So if they receive the second dose and cruise a week later, they are considered fully vaccinated? It's not 14 days after anymore? (Only interested in the Moderna info.) If so, then this would mean they don't need to be tested at port?

Disney Cruise Line accepts Pfizer and Moderna for Guests ages 4 and younger;

For Guests ages 4 and younger, the CDC defines fully vaccinated as receiving one of the following:

· 2 doses of Moderna: the second dose administered one month after the first.

This is the wording I received in my email directly from DCL:

For Guests ages 4 and younger, the CDC defines fully vaccinated as 14 days after receiving one of the following:
· Three doses of Pfizer: the second dose administered 21 days after the first; and the third dose administered 56 days after the second
· Two doses of Moderna: the second dose administered one month after the first
· Two doses of Sinopharm BBIBP-CorV (VeroCell): the second dose administered 21-28 days after the first
· Two doses of Sinovac-CoronaVac: the second dose administered 14-28 days after the first

So yes, it still has to be 14 days after the second dose to be considered fully vaccinated.

And this is what I received from my DU TA. It's not the same. It doesn't refer to the 14 days for 4 and under. This is SO incredibly ridiculous with so much to do/fill out/remember just to cruise that I can't even get the correct info. I'm so over all this cr*p.

For Guests ages 5 and older, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) defines fully vaccinated as 14 days after receiving one of the following:

· A single dose of an accepted 1-dose vaccine.

· The second dose of an accepted 2-dose vaccine.

· The full series of an active (not placebo) COVID-19 vaccine in the US-based AstraZeneca or Novavax COVID-19 vaccine trials.

· The second dose of any “mix and match” combination of accepted COVID-19 vaccines (administered at least 17 days apart).

Disney Cruise Line accepts Pfizer and Moderna for Guests ages 4 and younger; Sinopharm (BBIBP-CorV, VeroCell) for Guests ages 3 through 4; and Sinovac (CoronaVac) for Guests ages 6 months to 3 years old.

The communication regarding vaccination and testing requirements, especially for kids 4 and under, has been unacceptable. I got an email today saying that all kids 4 and under had to receive a PCR test, because my cruise falls before the September 2 date. But my Safe Passage shows my son as being clear to arrive, and I got another email from Safe Passage today saying he’ll be treated as every other vaccinated passenger. They really have no idea what is going on.

What your TA sent does not match DCL’s policy. Children under 5 (6mos to 4 yrs old) must be at least 14 days after the last dose of either a 2-dose Moderna series or a 3-dose Pfizer series.

The CDC isn’t really using the term “fully vaccinated” anymore, they push for “up to date.”

We're cruising in about 6 weeks with extended family with 2 under 5s. We're going to Bermuda, which has an additional authorization that needs to be dealt with. I haven't even gotten to Safe Passage yet. My head is going to explode. I *think* the under 5s have to be tested within 2 days of the cruise AND at port? That's just crazy.

My TA is a Dreams Unlimited TA. That's a little scary that THEY aren't providing the same info as Disney or even the correct info. And both Disney and DU are using the term "fully vaccinated". I guess we'll just proceed as if they're unvaccinated since they will literally be at 13 days. Can't catch a break with this cruise! :crazy2:

Yes, DCL is using “fully vaccinated” defined as 14 days after the last dose of the initial series which does align with the CDC definition. It’s just that the CDC isn’t using that term anymore because of boosters available now. I agree it’s problematic if the TA’s communication doesn’t include full details! Good luck with the Bermuda testing, maybe they’ll change it again before you go :)

I strongly recommend referring to Disney Cruise Line's Know Before You Go site as the holy grail of info. It's incredibly complex and frequently changing, so it's really impossible to summarize everything in an e-mail. I share bullet points/important dates with my clients but then tell them that they need to read through everything on this site and THEN ask me if they have questions.

Just going off of Disney's site, it is only suggested for those under 5 to be vaccinated. They are not required. Not sure if that was the question. Starting Sept 2, it's only ages 12 and older that are required.
