Hi,
i'm planning a quick trip to disney for the holidays and was wondering about the MVMCP...which rides and attractions operate during the party? and also, what are your thoughts about it? is it worth it??? i was thinking about not going to MK at all during this trip except for the party..would i be getting enough of MK if i just went for the party??? thanks!!! :)

Pretty much every attraction is open during the party.

Go :cool1: It is a wonderful time with the parade and wishes. You can also enter MK at 4 with your party ticket which gives you lots of time to do everything Mk has to offer.

We've always enjoyed going to MVMCP. Go on an evening that is a school night. I believe fewer locals attend these nights since their kids go to school the next day. We also go into the park late afternoon and do a few things before the official start of the evening. Not all CS restaurants are open during MVMCP, so if you want to eat at a specific one, you'll need to eat before they close. I don't believe Columbia Harbor House has been open the last 2 times we attended MVMCP. If you'll check back here in late Nov., I'm sure that some who have attended will post a schedule of open rides and food offerings.

We're going for the first time this year also. I hear that they have other shows at MK as well as the parade. Check out allears and their holiday pages as well as some of the other threads.

i think pretty much everything is open. I think it is definetely worth it. Last year when we did it, my sister and I got to ride every ride that we wanted in that short span of time, then we stayed for the special parade which was fun as well.

My opinion (based on my trip w/ my sis last year) - if you have no kids and head over before the 7 PM start time (can get in as early as 4 PM) and it's not sold out, the party would allow you enough time to do just about everything. That is, as long as you don't mind missing Jungle Cruise and SpectroMagic parade. On our trip las Dec, we went to the 10/11 party (Tues night). We went in early and got a lot done! We did go to MK the Sat night previous after our dinner at WCC, but we would have had time during the party to do the stuff we did on that Sat night (we left after the 2nd parade so didn;t stay the entire time of the party).

We went last year and are not planning on going again this year for a few strictly personal reasons:
1. 2 year old gets cranky after 8pm
2. the night we went was NOT sold out, but there were lines for everything
3. same parade we saw during the day
4. DS (5) and DD(2) are terrified of fireworks
Reasons to go:
1. Snow on main steet
2. Park thins out after first parade
3. Back of park empty!!!! - go nuts!!!
4. Cookies and Coco are a nice touch

Final decision: if it were just wife and I, we would be there!!!

thanks so much for all the info!
based on the last post about the two-year-old, i'm glad hubby and i decided to leave the 2 and a half-year-old rugrat home this time! :rotfl:
this is our anniversary/christmas present to each other and we ultimately decided to leave him home because we figured he definately couldn't hang until 12 am for this party!
it sounds like it's going to be lots of fun..
thanks! :woohoo:
