I know it's still a long way off yet, but I thought I would ask a general question...

Our extended family (10 people total) are traveling together in mid-October. We are contemplating the MNSSHP if we can fit it into the budget. I know that the DVC member discount is not a lot, but every bit helps. Can I buy all 10 tickets, even though only my family of 4 are members? If it matters, we are all staying on my DVC points, and the other family members don't even know about the discount so they are not planning on any savings.

You'll have to wait and see what the terms are for those tickets in 2016. In past years, there has been a limit - can't remember if it was 4 or 6 per household. The DVC member had to pick them up, but the tickets could be used by non-members as well as members.

Oh that's good to know! DH and I are both members and we both have cards so if 6 is the limit, I could pick up 6 and he could pick up the other 4. My parents are really not interested at this point, but I imagine they may change their mind if the grandkids are going:goodvibes.

I purchased 7 tickets for a September 2015 Halloween party. I was only allowed to purchase 6 of them with my DVC discount. After figuring out that the DVC discount was only like $5 per ticket, I just paid regular price for the last one.

I actually didn't even have to pick them up-I ordered them online last year using my DVC discount and had the physical cards shipped to my house-when I placed the order it said that the DVC member had to pick them up but it then let me choose to ship them and activated cards were sent to my house which was nice so that I didn't have to go to a ticket window or anything to activate on vacation.

In 2011 we had a group of 22. At that time I was told the limit was 6 per member. DH and I have APs, so we each bought 6 with DVC discount and 5 with AP discount.

That would work! I am the only one in our group with an AP so I could buy 6 and 4 by myself.
