My family and I are heading to Walt Disney World for our first trip in August. We have a mears shuttle from the airport with the package we purchased. Does anyone now if this shuttle stops at the grocery store for you? Thanks.

No it doesn't stop at any grocery store. But it does stop at all the hotels before it gets to your hotel! We give you a FREE 30min grocery store stop. ....Rabbit..

The Mears shuttle will not do a grocery stop. You may be on a shuttle or bus with guests from other resorts, so be prepared that the shuttle may take awhile if you are not the first guests to be let off.

One of the problems with booking packages is some of the perks really aren't worth it. For example, the Mears roundtrip service costs about $25 per person. For roughly $80 roundtrip total, you can have a private towncar pick you up at the airport and drive you directly to your resort. Most of the companies will even include a free grocery stop if you want it. After doing a package in 2001 and using Mears, we did the towncar service in 2002 and will never go back to Mears. We didn't have a bad experience with Mears, but the towncar was much nicer. With only two of us, Mears is cheaper, but we like the grocery stop and not having to leave our resort as early to get picked up for the airport. Also, with a family of 3 or more, it is actually cheaper to do a towncar service. Hope this helps!

Don't forget the concept of vouchers. Thinking you're all set and saving time, most packages will give you vouchers you still have to stand in ilne to exchange for tickets, as if you were buying them for the first time!

So in addition to paying about as much as a towncar would cost you, you also have to stand in the lines as if you had no tickets, because until you exchange the vouchers you really don't!

That infuriated me so much to learn the first time we went to WDW... With a package, of course

Thanks for all the advice. Unfortunately the package is already booked and I don't think I can change the shuttle now. It's tough being a newbie and I didn't discover these boards until to late.

Most of Disney's own packages cost close to what the most expensive choices within the options would have totalled up to.

You are better off booking components separately, a la carte.

FOr four or more people, the Mears shuttle is not the least expensive as well as being inconveniently slow.
