Question about Mardi Gras concerts and timing.

So, I see that 30 Seconds to Mars will be the last show for Mardi Gras and I nearly peed myself in excitement. However, I noticed that their concert is at 9:30, and Universal closes at 10. So...does this mean that the Mardi Gras concerts only last 30 minutes? Seems like such a short amount of time to me.

The park closes but the concert will go on until it's over. It just means no one else can enter the park. If you're going to the concert, I would suggest getting there no later than 5pm to get a good spot because it's going to be packed!

If you want to be near the stage you will need to stake out your spot very early in the evening. You can sit if you'd like but it's standing room for the concerts. If you don't care about being near the stage and are happy with watching the concert on the big video screens, you wouldn't have to get there that early.

Thats if you want to be up close and personal. I always stay way back across the street by Monster's Cafe. They have 2 big screens on each side of the stage. Never been disappointed with that.

Bases on anecdotal evidence, this should be THE concert of the season there. Expect even the street by Monsters Cafe to be jammed. If you want to get close, the earlier you arrive the better.
