Question about Magical Express

So if you're staying in a Disney resort, you can take a free bus to your resort called Disney's Magical Express. OK, I get that much.

My question is this. We've got two members of our party headed down to Wilderness Lodge Villas renting a car. The reservation is under their name. One of their daughters is coming down to Orlando a few days later to join them in the room. Will she be able to use Magical Express? (If not, the Mears bus is fine, but if there's a free officially sanctioned Disney option, that'd be better.)

someone would need to let Magical Express know when she arriving and her flight number and then she should receive in the mail a luggage tag to put on her luggage so the air lines knows it goes to Magical Express and then she would need the ticket (booklet) they send out from Magical Express to show the driver before boarding. we were just there in January 2012 and some guy told us was $75 from airport in a cab one way. if she returning ME then she also would have to have the booklet with ticket in it. and check in her luggage at resort for return trip ME then leaves a letter on your door the day before check out telling you the time they will be picking you up. :thumbsup2 be sure also that the front desk has her name so they know where her luggage goes as ME takes it right to the room

All registered guests are entitled to complimentary roundtrip airport transportation. Have your friends call DME directly at 866-599-0951 to add any guests requiring transportation.

If your friend's daughter is over 18, she may proceed after arrival to the Disney's Magical Express Welcome Center in the Main Terminal Building, B side, Level 1. They will direct her to the correct bus for the WLV.

*Hi DVC California - so is that the case for people arriving on separate days and using the magical express as well? Family emergency came up and now i'll be arriving on Thursday night and my travel companion will be arriving Friday morning. We're both on the reservation. Will they let both of us use the magical express?*

Thank You

The daughter must be listed on the reservation to be entitled to use ME so make sure your friends list her on their reservation and I believe she must be 16 years old if she is traveling alone.
As pp have mentioned just order her ME documents with her flight info and they will mail out the ME tickets and luggage tags.

Yes!

Not totally accurate.
1) Anyone wishing to utilize ME must be listed on the resort reservation.
2) Reservations must be made by calling the ME number (posted earlier)
3) You do not NEED the booklet they send out to utilize ME. If you don't have it, simply check in at the counter (they'll have you listed int he computer as long as you did step 2).
4) You do not NEED the luggage tags they send out. You can either collect your own luggage and bring on ME with you or give the counter person your claim ticket and bag description and they'll pick them up for you.
5) You do not NEED to utilize RAC (resort bag check in) to utilize ME on the way back to MCO.

No problem if some family members arrive late or leave early using Magical Express

Now you do need the advance DME reservation for the actual date(s) you will be riding DME. Which means being on the room reservation when you arrive in Orlando if you do things at the last minute.

Going home you need to finalize your DME reservation on or before morning of the day you will be riding DME.
