I called Disney and got three different answers! I should have known better to come here for the right answer.

2 families traveling to Disney for 1 week staying at the wilderness lodge Oct 11-16

Room 1 Reservation in Violets name
Violet
Carlos
Isabel
Adrian
Esteban

Room 2 Reservation in CJ's name
Cj
Jenny
Iscela
Alexis

Here is the tricky part we are staying one night Oct 10 at all-star music and because there are 5 in one party we got three rooms

Room 1 Reservation in Violets name
Violet
Carlos
Adrian
Esteban

Room 2 Reservation in CJ's name
Cj
Jenny
Isabel
Alexis

Room 3 Reservation in CJ name
Jenny

When I go to order magic bands for my family Isabel shows up on my list. It's my niece so I don't mind buying her the magic band that's not the problem, The problem is that when we switch over from all-star to wilderness lodge how will that work since all the tickets and everything are on a different persons reservation?

When I called Disney these are the answers I got

1. It might just transfer over and there will be no issues, but I'm not sure

2. Don't buy the magic bands until I check into WL

3. I have to buy two different magic bands

You don't have to buy Magic Bands for everyone on a reservation. Magic Bands aren't connected to reservations, they are connected to profiles in MDE accounts. Everything connected to that person, in their MDE profile, can be pulled by the Magic Band. How are your My Disney Experience accounts set up? You do not need to buy two different MBs. You, also, do not need to buy a MB for Isabel when you purchase MBs for your family.

As above, you don’t have to buy MBs for every reservation. One per person is enough. You CAN buy more than one MB per person if you want different colors to match to different outfits, but it’s not necessary at all.

I assume you're worried because Isabel is moving from a "CJ room" to a "Violet room", while everyone else stays with the same lead guest. You have to look at it from the 1st stay--that 1st night at ASMu.
Now based on if you booked a package or a room only--things vary a little--it sounds like you booked a package though--
If you booked a package--you'll want your tickets to be attached to that 1st stay (which it sounds like you did)--otherwise, you won't have active ticket media to go to a park that day--well, you could possibly go to Guest Services beforehand to activate but I don't want to confuse you any further than I already am, lol.
If you booked a Room Only--tickets were bought and assigned in MDE separately so, they don't really come into play at all. Everyone's tix should start that 1st day.
When you change resorts--as long as Isabel is ONLY LISTED ON 1 ROOM, everything should be fine--that 2nd stay is just a room only--so if she's in "Violet's room"--that's where her key will work
Definitely, only get MBs for that 1st stay--don't spend more and complicate things (but even if you did get them--as long as they are assigned to the right person--they should work just fine--I use old MBs all the time)
Hope that helps--this is how it's always worked for me. The issues are generally much worse when people are actually staying in different rooms than they are assigned to and when the dining plan is involved (well, used to be, haha)-- If I'm wrong--I take no offense to being corrected people--my ego can take it, so please feel free--I'
d rather accurate info be out there

Make it simple and just order the MBs from the Wilderness Lodge reservation which is split by family; they will work for both ASMu and WL. But above are correct that it really won't matter. The MB will belong to Isabel whether she's in your room, her parent's room, or next year with a friend. It's her band and will access any reservation on which she is named and any ticket assigned to her.

(maybe a typo, but I noticed you don't have Iscela listed on an ASMu reservation, but Jenny is listed twice)

The first night is a room only and the Monday through Saturday is a package deal. My main concern is that Isabel is able to hop to the right package and be linked ready to go on Monday for Epcot

Yes, that was a typo Jenny should have been listed once. I didn't realize I can book the magic bands based on which stay (facepalm). I already ordered them based on the one-night reservation.

As mentioned already, magic bands are assigned to a specific person and are not dependent on any given reservation. A given band will be usable for any and all reservations that person has, until the band is either damaged or Disney stops using the technology.

Also, something not mentioned, but since you have two reservations, you have the option of buying another magic band for anyone wanting one at the reduced rate. Or buy a special one at the parks once you're there. Each person can have multiple active bands. I have well over 20, myself.

Bands are interchangeable, each one acting as a key to access the information stored in your DME account. Nothing is actually stored on the bands.

You‘ll be fine—as tix are attached to the room with the package, they will be active Monday to go to EPCOT—would have been a problem if you wanted to go to a park on Sunday. Have fun!
