Hoping someone can help me. We are traveling out of state and we are bringing our daughters laptop for emailing and internet use. ( I believe she said it has an ethernet card) anyway we are staying at two different bed and breakfasts and the ad online for the one b&b says, "high speed internet access" and the ad for the other b&b says "high-speed analog data ports for PCs".

I was wondering what we will need to bring? A phone plug/cord/jack? (not sure what you call it LOL) or our cable hook up wires from home?

TIA

most likely you'll have to bring an ethernet cord, but you could call and ask the hotel, they will let you know.

tricia.

Each place is different. I am using the high speed access at a Courtyard Marriott right now. They provided everything. Note some places charge for this. When we were at the Sheraton Safari in Kissimmee in March there was a charge for these services.

No places I know of will provide a pc, unlike a library. Some hotels will provide the connection (the actual ISP hooup) free of charge, some charge anywhere from $5 to as much as $20 a day for unlimited use. Some also will provide the cables needed. For highspeed (real high speed, not just highspeed dialup) you need ethernet cables. For a dialup, you need modem (telephone cables). I always have both in my laptop bag, along with all kinds of adapters, etc.
