Question About Kadani and Jambo

We are staying in a 2br Value at Jambo in January (YEAH!!!!!). I've been reading that the slide at Kadani is better than Jambo. We drive everywhere at Disney. If we decide to drive to Kadani to swim, is there parking close to the pool? I know the resorts are walking distance apart but it may be cool (last time we went this time of year, there was a cold front that came through, so lows were in the 30's ). Just trying to wrap my mind around the layout. We've never stayed at AKV. We've only eaten at Boma.

Thanks in advance!

The Kidani slide is much longer than Jambo. I personally like the Jambo pool better because there are far more places to find shade and the pool is bigger. There is parking under the Kidani building. A fairly small part of it is somewhat (and I emphasize "somewhat") close to the pool but no assurance you will get parking there. There are other parts that are so far away from the pool that you might as well just walk from Jambo because walking distance will be the same. Note, you can bus or take a shuttle that runs between the buildings and I would recommend that before taking the car.

I agree I would take the shuttle before taking a parking space a Kidani guest might need.

Depending on where you are in Jambo, you can also walk to the Kidani pool. The theme park buses go to Kidani first, so don't take those. However, if at Kidani, you can catch any TP bus and it goes back to Jambo first. I forget if the DTD bus is in reverse order like other resorts.

And if walking is too far there is a shuttle between the two resorts. I much prefer the Kidani pool!

There is parking right outside the pool/fitness center area. We drove when we stayed at Jambo and went to the Kidani pool for the day. It is a long walk.

Note that this parking area is very small. It is used by people who are checking in. More than once I found it to be completely full.

I was going to say nearly the exact same thing. Only we weren't checking in.

OP says she is going in January. As long as that is not the very first week my guess is that their will be parking. We go in the "off season" and have never seen the parking at the pool full during "pool time" - you know late morning to afternoon.

But we said it was mostly used by people checking in, not the pool goers.

Kidani wins out over Jambo for us, and I'm having a hard time figuring out why everyone thinks it's so impossible to walk between Jambo and Kidani. We are old, and one of us has really bad knees, yet we have never found the walk between the two halves of the resort to require us to spend the extra time waiting for a shuttle or driving between them. In fact, but the time you walked to your car, drove to the other resort and walked from your car, you would likely have been able to walk between the two with the same amount of time and energy.

I like Kidani. Yes, I really do - like Kidani that is. I like Kidani...

Sooo... you like Kidani? :lmao:
Us too.

By the Way lync, it's closer to the pool to park under the building instead of up by the lobby which frequently fills up anyway with only 8 or so spaces - I've never seen all the spaces under the building or in that outside lot down there down by the pool area taken up. People tend to want to park near the lobby or closer out to the roadway. I think people are afraid to venture further down the parking garage LOL

Walking wise, it's an easy walk, but if you have little ones I can imagine having to hoist them after they wear themselves out swimming. Changing rooms can be found at the fitness center, or there are bathrooms right behind the bar (conveniently close to where you exit for the garage anyway) so you can change into dry clothes before going back.

If you choose to take a bus back to Jambo it's a short wait as all park buses stop there after Kidani. However, I've found getting TO Kidani from Jambo via bus could be a substantial wait.

But we said it was mostly used by people checking in, not the pool goers.

And I said that I had not seen it full during "pool time" of the off season - meaning that not that many people are checking in during that time I guess because there were spots for parking. I don't mean to be arguementative, but I've been able to park there to go to the pool so I don't want the OP to think it absolutely won't be possible, because it is possible that it will.

Agreed.

A a pool slide fan, my vote is for the Kidani slide being much better than the Jambo slide. However, I think the pool at Jambo is nicer. And on the other hand, LOL, the child splash area at Kidani is great.
I stayed at Jambo, and drove over to Kidani and parked in the "check in" parking right by the entrance to the pool. That was the first week of December.

With having little ones, we prefer the pool at Kidani. My ds LOVES the splash area...however, as pp said, the pool at Jambo is actually larger. As for logistics, walking to Kidani from Jambo wasn't bad at all. If you do choose a bus, you can jump on one headed to DTD, as it will go to Kidani next. The park busses are the opposite. Have a fun trip!

Thanks for the replies (even the ones that noticed that I misspelled KIDANI....got it :rolleyes1)!

I was just concerned about walking back wet in late January. It was mentioned there is a changing room we can use. That's great! Hopefully it will be a mild January and not in the 30's again!!

Thanks again!

So where did you expect the people to park that are checking in? If you are not checking in use the correct parking lot.

Just because something is possible does not mean you should do it. It's labeled for check in then then those are the people that should use it. Anything else is just rude to other guests.
