I know they are offering 100 point as an initial buy and my understanding is for a limited time. Does anyone know if it really is for a "limited time"? I would like to buy in for 100 points at AKV (I believe $96 or $94 per point can't rememeber off hand) but would like to wait towards the end of the year to purchase but would kick myself If I wait and have to buy a minimum of 160 pts later one. what did they do last year?

Hi: It seems the current promo ends on 9/20. There doesn't seem to be any updates regarding an extension for this date. What they are offering depends a bit on the economy and how quickly things are selling. I can't remember a 100 point buy-in offer before.

The e-mail I received was for 100 pts for an add-on not a first time purchase.

If BLT and VGC go for sale before the end of the year, the base price on DVC points will go up substantially - and you may be kicking yourself for waiting, even if you still get the 100-point buy-in (which rumour has it, they are continuing). DVC prices have always gone up when a new resort starts selling.

my understanding from our guide last week when we closed was, the 100 point buy in was only a "summer special" and they didn't know when it would end. that is what we purchased, at $96 a point to AKK

If the buy in price increases as much as it's predicted to with the addition of GCV and BLT, then I'd stick to that 9/20 date anyway, since the price increase is going to hit all the DVC offerings. Now, that doesn't mean there wont be a nice incentive coming later too, but there is no guarantee, and even a nice incentive might not matter if the original price per point is significantly higher.

We did purchase a new buy-in 100 point @ AKV two weeks ago at DL (we changed our minds yesterday and went with 160 instead) at $96.00 per point price. You could also put only $500 down if you were financing. If you buy through the Disneyland office you will get Founding Member status for the presale of the GCV, which basically allows you to buy up to 160 points of GVC 60 days before they allow any one else to purchase there...but many people think there is no chance of GVC selling out in 60 or 90 days so in turn they don't consider this to be much of a benefit, if any.

Two weeks ago we were told that the promo "could end at any time". Then last week guide stated that the promo ended on 9/20. So maybe there was not a deadline until last week?
