Hi all,

My daughter and myself are going to DLP next March and our package includes two 5 day hopper passes.
The plan is to buy Annual passes the first day we are there but as I understand it these passes cannot be used on the 2nd and 3rd day after purchase. What I plan to do is then use the passes on the 4th and 5th days of our trip saving two days on our hopper passes.
My question is this… can I keep them two days on the passes and use them at a later date ??
I plan to go again around Halloween and my eldest daughter wants to come (she isn’t coming in March) and I was hoping that she could then use the two days left on each of the hopper passes, giving her 4 days in total in the parks.

I dont think i can give any advise there on what you have asked, we got our annual passes last monday. we went without buying the annual passes or tickets of any kind and went to guest relations where we bought a temporary pass (the cost of the annual pass). You then go straight to the annual pass building and 5 minutes later we were sorted with our passes.

sorry i cant give any advice....i'll see if mrs stonfiesta can help.

Are you buying Francillien passes? Those are the only ones where you can't use them for day 2 and 3 of your trip, once you've bought them. Fantasy can be used straightaway (as long as its not a blackout day) and Dream can also be used straightaway (no blackout days on Dream AP's).

As far as your package tickets are concerned, I think it will depend whats marked on them. My package tickets were marked "duration of stay" so couldn't be used after the day we checked out of the hotel.

Thanks for that Elaine.
Looks like i may well be out of luck then. I will just have to wait and see what's printed on the hopper passses when i get them.

I wonder why you booked a package with already having in mind to get Annual Passports..!? But generally I'd agree to first wait what'll be on your tickets if you get them in advance. If they're limited (I'd expect them to be) you could even find someone to join you when visiting the park.

Or why not getting your APs just before your following visit then? You'll benefit from having longer AP validity then ;)

Cheers

I know, bit silly really isn't it.
When i booked the trip i didn't know much about Annual passes, it's only since coming on this site that i have found out about them, by then i had paid quite a bit towards my trip so it was too late.
Good point about leaving the Annual passes until later on in the year, it would make sense to do that. Sometimes i just do not think!!

Well -- never mind! There's everytime more than just one path to reach the goal, and it's nice to know about the enlightening effect of the DIS boards :goodvibes

At least you have your plans fixed early enough and can relax now, as you have enough ideas how to handle the ticket/AP thing... time enough to slowly get excited about your upcoming trip!

Have fun then :-)

Why not do as Cubitus has suggested and wait until your next trip before purchasing APs?

Also, check the 'black out days' before deciding which AP to go for, particularly if you are planning to go for Halloween, and especially if you plan to go to the party.
